Dr. M Planted The Seed of 1MDB fiasco

The first thing Dr. M did after becoming the prime minister of Malaysia in 1981 was to do away with the open tender system for awarding government contracts, replacing it with negotiated tender system, totally disregarded the provisions of the General Orders on the awarding of government contracts. He argued that the open tender system was too time consuming. With the negotiated tender system, he had the final say who would get the contracts. Some building contracts were awarded to people who could not even differentiate a bolt from a nut. To ensure the success of the projects, the value of the contracts were inflated so that the projects could be sub-contracted or sold for a handsome profit. Overnight millionaires were created, cronyism was born and corruption became entrenched in Malaysia.
Who wants to work hard when easy money could be made by getting lucrative government contracts, And to get the contracts, money had to be paid to middle-men who could help to secure the contracts.
A new breed of businessmen whose businesses were to "buy" and sell contracts, was born. When questioned Dr M retorted "What's wrong with creating instant Malay millionaires?" How could it be wrong because it was these cronies who ensured he stayed in power for 22 years. He could have stayed longer ( after all he had just moved into his Putrajaya "palace"  ) if he did not lose the support of the Malays after the sacking of  Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. That was his Waterloo. Although Dr M was a brilliant strategist, he did not see it coming. In the past he had sacked the Head of Judiciary and clipped the powers of the Royalty without any repercussions.
Why is Dr M attacking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak now over the Altantuya case? Why did he pressure Tun Abdullah Badawi to appoint Datuk Seri Najib as the Deputy Prime Minister although he believed Datuk Seri Najib was linked to the case ? ( Tun Abdullah took awhile to nominate Datuk Seri Najib as his deputy. Those who were present at the ceremony noticed Dr M was very tense prior to the official appointment of Datuk Seri Najib as the Deputy Prime Minister )
Is Dr M doing all he could to remove Datuk Seri Najib Razak as Prime Minister because he loves the country ? If he really love the country, he should have arrested the declining standard of education in Malaysia during his tenure as Prime Minister. If he really love the country, he should have tried to unite the various races after his retirement, instead of  continuing to issue  statements that pit the Malays against the non-Malays like " The Malays are losing power" , "A non-Malay will one day be the Prime Minister of Malaysia" ,etc.
Will Datuk Seri Najib buckle under the pressure ? Unlikely because Datuk Seri Najib is one of Dr. M's best students

Kajang By-Election: Anwar Will Not Win ( and should not win )

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will lose in the Kajang by-election because the people of Selangor want Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim to continue to be their Menteri Besar. It is so refreshing  to have someone who is prudent, business-friendly and professional to helm the Selangor state government. Nowadays, it is so difficult to find such a leader in the Malaysian government.  My only gripe about him is his sometimes slow response to issues that need urgent attention.. However that could be his strength. He probably wanted to be doubly sure before making a decision.
It is certainly no small achievement to build up a reserve of over RM 3 billion after serving one term as the leader of the state government. His no-nonsence approach in administering the state and reports of him refusing to accept donations from individuals who may have ulterior motives endear him more to the Selangoreans. The outcome of the GE 13 is clear evidence that the people of Selangor is happy with his adminstration. They want a Menteri Besar who has the people's welfare at heart and not someone who enrich himself, his familiy members or cronies.
Furthermore, the people of Kajang know that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim need not be a Menteri Besar of Selangor to realise his plan to take over Putrajaya. After all he was at one one time a Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. They are also aware that if Datuk Seri Anwar became the Selangor Menteri Besar and got convicted in his up-coming Sodomy Trial, he will lose his job as the Menteri Besar.

Datuk Seri Najib's Own Potilical Survival Agenda, Stupid !

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib's announcement of a massive economic empowerment agenda for bumiputra to thank them for their support for Barisan Nasional in the recent 13th general election has  caused a storm in a tea-cup among certain quarters. If his intention is really to reward those who had supported the ruling coalition during the recent election, then why are Indians not included. Immediately after winning the mandate to govern for another five years, Datuk Seri Najib blamed the Chinese for Barisan Nasional's worst performance. He did not blame the Indians, implying that Indians supported BN. And if all Malays supported BN why did BN lose in Shah Alam and Gombak where the majority of the electorates are Malays. The truth is urban voters, whether Chinese, Malays or Indians, wanted to change the government because the incumbent government seemed unable to tackle the high crime rate, stop blatant corruption and improve the quality of education. Generally most of the people love the Prime Minister but not the party he is from. The Prime Minister has to do the bidding of the war lords in the party because they decide who helms the party. That is one of the reasons the government can never implement open tenders for all government contracts since the day Dr Mahathir introduced negotiated tenders. Was anyone surprised that Dr Mahathir could stay on as the Prime Minister for 22 years despite the numerous billion ringgit financial fiasco and scandal during his tenure ? Who cares about the future generations. What is important is to get elected in the next election.
The UMNO election will be held in October 2014 and the fate of the Prime Minister is the hands of 150 thousand members. Previously only 2000 delegates decide who will be the president of the party and prime minister of the country. How ridiculous !

The End of BN's Rule in GE13?

The RAHMAN prophecy has been fulfilled and does that mark the beginning of the end of  Barisan Nasional  era ? Even Dr M openly admitted that he could not think of anyone in the BN who could succeed Najib as PM should he fail miserably in GE13  Disunity in BN was most evident on Nomination Day.If PR are as united as they were in the 2008, they could have easily strolled to Putrajaya. DAP has become a bit too ambitious and arrogant in trying  to take over Johor. DAP should have kept secret the candidates who will be spear-heading their assault in Johore until Nomination Day. Springing a surprise is the most effective form of attack.. PR has missed the golden opportunity but then again there is still a 50-50 chance.

The Reasons Malaysia Needs A Change of Government

Malaysian has been ruled by BN for more than half a century. While the country has deviated from the original path envisioned by her founding fathers, it has seen decent physical development and an improvement  in the standard of living of its citizens. However, since the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, cracks have appeared in the economic model of the country. Foreign direct investments have plummeted, the country has been running on budgetary deficits and national debts have ballooned. Malaysia was once  the richest country in South East Asia, but not anymore. Singapore has long overtaken Malaysia, Thailand is on the rise and Indonesia is catching up. Even China, Taiwan and South Korea who were poorer than Malaysia in the early 80s have done better than Malaysia. What happened ?
Allegations of corruptions and the abuse of NEP for self-interests by politicians of the ruling coalition have been singled out as the main cause of our current malaise. Since the 2008 political tsunami, BN has been working hard and at times seemed desperate to win back the people's trust it lost. Handouts after handouts have been given out but actual reform or improvement was not perceptible. The incumbent government claims that it was able to increase the salaries of civil servants, the armed forces and the police and give handouts to those in the lower income group, etc because it has managed the economy well. But the national debt is still at the all time high. Is the BN government trying to hoodwink its citizens when in actual fact the national coffer is empty ? Has the government borrowed  heavily from the EPF ? Are the BN politicians desperate to cling on to power so that their hanky-panky dealings will not be exposed by the new government as had happened to Selangor and Penang after PR took over the state government. The more the BN government tried to convince the rakyat that the country is in good hands, the more sceptical  the people become.
To quell these doubts, once and for all, vote for CHANGE. Let PR take over and "audit the BN  accounts". The BN government have worked so hard for the rakyat for more 50 years deserves a short break. Five years is a short time. If everything is in order, I am sure every right thinking citizen will turn out in full force to vote for BN , which have been "wronged ", come GE 14.

Sex videos of "politicians"

Why do some people wasted so much time, effort and money to produce and distribute videos of politicians or people who resemble certain politicians in sexual acts to discredit them or to tarnish their image? Didn't they know that a politician who was caught for khalwat ( close proximity ) with a celebrity in a hotel room in Port Dickson and committed adultery with someone's wife and eventually married her,  went on to become Prime Minister of Malaysia ? This is proof that sexual scandal is no more relevant in the political arena in Malaysia. The people of Malaysia are more concern about corruptions and abuse of funds and power.

GE13 Conundrum

Voting for BN is saying yes to racial politics
Voting for BN is accepting corruption as a Malaysian culture
Voting for BN is endorsing an education system that emphasizes the number of A's instead of the quality
Voting for BN is supporting a system where the Prime Minister is elected by 2000 delegates of a party
